247Monitor

247Monitor vs UptimeRobot

UptimeRobot's free tier is famously generous. The features you need once uptime is your job — 30-second checks, real-browser journeys, failure forensics — are Enterprise-priced or simply not on the menu.

UptimeRobot is the monitoring tool most people try first, and its 50 free monitors deserve the reputation. But growth on UptimeRobot gets expensive in a particular way: 30-second checks live on the $82/month Enterprise tier, SMS and voice run on prepaid credits, and there is no browser-based synthetic monitoring at any price.

247Monitor takes the opposite bet: 1-minute free checks, and the serious capabilities — 30-second intervals from £9, scripted Chromium journeys with screenshots and traces, white-label status pages — on normal plans that a small team can justify.

The case for switching

Why teams pick 247Monitor over UptimeRobot

30-second checks at a tenth of the price

Their fastest interval requires the $82/month Enterprise plan. Ours comes with Starter at £9 — for monitoring revenue-critical systems, detection speed is the whole point.

Browser journeys exist here

No UptimeRobot plan can log into your app, click through checkout and assert the order confirmed. Even our £9 Starter includes a scripted Chromium journey with 1,000 runs a month; Pro includes five with 10,000.

Evidence, not just alerts

When a journey fails you get the screenshot, console logs, request details and a downloadable trace. An alert that says “down” is a question; ours tries to be the answer.

Confirmed before it pages you

Checks from three continents and confirmation before alerting. UptimeRobot publicly documented false-positive storms in its EU region in 2025; we built our quorum logic to make that class of noise rare.

Fair's fair

Where UptimeRobot is the right call

No tool wins every row, including ours. If these describe you, they may genuinely fit better.

You want maximum free monitors

50 free monitors beats our 25. If you're monitoring a pile of hobby projects and five-minute checks are fine, UptimeRobot's free tier is genuinely hard to argue with — though ours checks five times as often.

You need voice-call alerts

UptimeRobot offers phone-call alerting via credits. We currently alert through email, Slack, Discord, Teams, Telegram and webhooks — no voice calls yet.

FAQ

Switching questions

Can I migrate from UptimeRobot easily?

Yes — most monitors translate one-to-one (HTTP, keyword, ping, port, SSL, cron/heartbeat). Recreate them in our UI or via the API; most teams are done within an hour.

Why does UptimeRobot offer more free monitors?

Different bets. UptimeRobot optimises for a huge free audience; we optimise for the features you need once monitoring matters professionally — fast intervals, browser journeys and forensics on plans that aren't Enterprise-priced.

Does 247Monitor really have no voice alerts?

Correct, for now. We alert via email, Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Telegram and webhooks, and SMS credits cover status-page subscriber updates. Voice alerting is on our roadmap.

Run both for a week. Keep the one that wakes you up correctly.

Our free plan doesn't expire, so the comparison costs you nothing but ten minutes of setup.
